BOSS DS-1 MOSFET MOD
I have mod this effect pedal by BOSS twice. I sold one to Ireland, as far as I remember I sold it to someone from Dublin. Second one (this one) I modified with 80' mosfet transistors and cap I bought on ebay. Last two pieces of these 80' transistors IFR 520 offered. The same cap 22nJ100 used MXR to its Super Badass Dynamic OverDrive circuit.
But hey, exactly this effect I bought sometimes in early 2015 at Moth Club in Hackney in London. I was sitting at Moth Club stage waiting for Yuck band and bought it from ebay. Same night I broke my Canon 5D camera shutter when I was taking band pictures. Later on, at the same night I missed last train from Hackney Central, then met two british youndgsters and took night bus with them all the way to Euston and then down to Southfields where I used to live. It was long journey to get back home that night.
I know this is the most used distortion ever but this raugh transistor version sounds amazing. Is anyone interested to have it or to get modified his one? please feel free to contact me.

TODAY’S MOOD WITHOUT MOD
I guess you haven’t heard about this. Or you might….
I’ve got this EHX GRAPHIC FUZZ as a christmas gift from my brother. I had it for a while in the box but Today I have played “Say Ain’t It So” by WEEZER and have used it to get the sound somewhere between Distortion and Fuzz. And that’s what this effect pedal is actually doing. It’s mod on its self because you can EQ your sound to get something specific to your tones only or switch to Fuzz and get a controll of Fuzz smoothness by 500 Hz slider pot the way just up and down using your finger, And I have doubled compression and sustain Today with SUPER COMP by MXR. As you can see the GRAPHIC FUZZ has got Envelope Filter as a second section. Out there is rainy day and I enjoyed to play with this unit to burn the rhythm.

MODERN PLAYER MOD MUSTANG
This FENDER MUSTANG MODERN PLAYER was another lovely gift I’ve got from my brother. It was last weekend before Christmas 2014 and we both went to legendary Denmark Street in London. We were at Regent Sounds Shop and there was this guitar on the wall. My brother bought it for me and the guy selling it to him said something like the guitar had been in the trunk of his car before he got it for sale. I don’t remember the whole thing but later I’ve realised he actually saying it to every customer about any stuff they’ve got at shop. I also remember the same week I met James Sedwards from Thurston Moore Band at the same shop. Winter 2014 was very dark and rainy in my memories but that same weekend, it was actually Friday, I spent evening at Cafe OTO in Dalston and have met for a very first time Stuart Groves and his ex-girlfriend Sarah. It was Thurston Moore’s (of Sonic Youth) very last gig of that year.
That Sunday evening, or it might be Monday actually, leaving the Regent Sounds Shop I said to my brother I know a shortcut to get faster to meet his girlfriend. Which was roundabout at Covent Garden and no clue how but I messed up the roads. Finally we got to meeting late rather than on time as I’ve expected using my super shortcut.
No idea what year but I’m expecting it was 2015 I replaced the original P90 pickups which was only one thing really making this guitar Modern Player serie. I modified the guitar with really great pickups. The replacement to originals are Hot Custom pickups made by great russian pockups maker ALEXANDER PRIBORA from Moscow. That time back he was on the begining of his journey. Then these ones are one of the very first he ever made I guess. I paid about only £50 for the whole set incl. postage from Russia. This days they cost about tripple of the price I have paid. I still got the mid pickup in the original box hidden in Fender guitar case. Both, pickups and guitar case had been designed for Fender Stratocaster but both nicely fits to this Mustang. Doesn’t really bother me these weren’t designed for Mustang ‘cos they sounds really great and sound might be very close to BILLY CORGAN’s GISH guitar. I often play songs like Rhinoceros on this guitar. Or actually also WEEZER songs of the blue album. But that year I was very picky and a few months later I actually had a chat with Pribora about if there would be any chance he would start makeing something more mustangish and he said he has a plan to create some set for Mustang and Duo Sonic guitars as well. But finally I never replaced these pickups, that great they sounds.however even hasn’t got Fender’s “little” guitars look. I kept the original P90’s in the guitar case and the sparkle scratch plate on the shelf stored between books. And in combination with sunburst finish I felt into Mint color replacement. Very interesting fact about this Modern Player serie is that the guitar has body made of Pink Pine wood as oldest Fender’s Telecasters used to have. And you wouldn’t believe how great it sounds and how heavy the guitar is….
2015 was the year I have published with Kim Gordon in her autobiography book and started collecting guitar effect pedals. Actually very begining was the same Christmas period I’ve got this guitar. I bought early 80’ Flanger by DOD sitting at Starbucks in Wimbledon. These days I started to play Mustang after years and I do enjoy its feeling and sound.

WOOD BOXED REISSUE OF “PI” BUT I MIGHT MODIFIE IT TO “OP AMP” VERSION
I remember the day when I bought my very first MUFF. It was one of those 2015 Saturdays about summer and I’ve been on my way to Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) gig in Hackney Church. Mid day I went to Denmark Street shops and found LITTLE BIG MUFF for only £25 in exchange section. Cosmetic and working condition was mint but without box for that unbelievable price and it was a sunny day. And on the way to Hackney I also stopped at Starbucks in Highbury & Islington to get coffee. Sat to table with a view through the shopwindow directed to Highbury High Street..The effect purchase made my day. Later I bought many of those classic BIG MUFF variations from classic PI to OP AMP. And sold them all except this on. No idea why did I do that and even why I kept only and exactly this on. Especially once my most favourite album ever is “Siamese Dream” of SMASHING PUMPKINS. The reason might be my whole collection which contains many effects very close OP AMP sounding pitch. And I’m much bigger fan of MXR then their BROWN ACID impressed me more than EHX BIG MUFF. Anyway it was fun to be owner of complete BIG MUFF serie and great experience. Now, after all, I’ll stick with this exact big metal box in its wooden coat only and sometimes I’m gonna play some Smashing Pumpkins or Mudhoney songs...And I might swap the circuit for OP AMP version. Something DIY made or such thing.
